3. A blood test or saliva test on its own cannot predict perimenopause or menopause. But, you might be asked to get one prior to commencing hormone therapy to check that other things are OK.
4. Changes in pelvic floor function are common during perimenopause. In particular, increased urinary urgency, reduced pelvic organ support or vaginal dryness A visit with a pelvic health physio or osteo is recommended if you've noticed any changes in your bladder, bowel or vaginal health.
5. Your brain completely rewires during perimenopause. Increased feelings of irritability, absent mindedness, anxiety and depression are common. Prioritising your physical and mental health during this time can help you feel more in control.
